The second performance in SPIC MACAY IIT Palakkad chapter was a lecture-demonstration by the
famous sitar maestro Pandit Shubhendra Rao and the famous table percussionist Shri Pranshu
Chaturlal.
As a custom it all started in the evening with the lighting of lamp and an introduction of the artists by
our fellow volunteers followed by the lecture-demonstration.
Pandit Shubhendra Rao, disciple of late Pandit Ravi Shankar, dedicated first few minutes of the
session to Sitar and went on embracing the evening through various ragas. Shri Pranshu Chaturlal
joined him after the first few minutes and both the artists mesmerized everyone present there with
their music, synchronization, and the mysticism which they had acquired over years of training and
hard work. Everybody felt blessed with the amazing performance.
The performance ended with a huge round of applause. The chief guest for the evening, our
director, Prof. P.B. Sunil Kumar presented mementos to the artists, and that’s how the beautiful
evening ended
